Day 002

Rubik's Cube

Planned for April 7, 2026. A mental skill built on patterns, patience, and not panicking when the cube looks worse halfway through.

Why I Picked This

The Rubik's Cube is a classic beginner challenge because it looks impossible until the logic finally clicks. I like skills that start as confusion and slowly turn into pattern recognition.

When I do the real challenge day, this page will become less about theory and more about the exact moment the beginner method started making sense.

What You Need

Starter Supply

3x3 Speed Cube

A smooth beginner cube makes the learning curve feel fun instead of frustrating.

What I Learned

This section is still a placeholder. After the attempt, I will replace it with the actual sequence that helped, the turns that kept tripping me up, and how long the first solve took.

  • The hardest part is staying calm when the cube gets messy before it gets better.
  • Memorizing a few clean algorithms can unlock a lot of progress.
  • Pattern recognition gets easier once the pressure drops.

Would I Do It Again?

Yes, mostly because this feels like the kind of puzzle that becomes meditative once the early frustration is gone.

Try this skill? Tag your attempt on Instagram at @the.simple.guyyy. I would love to compare first-solve times and beginner mistakes.
