Elected Representative of 1200+ students · Led a 4-tier team of 32 members

One of the most memorable journeys of my college life. In just 2 weeks, I spoke to 1000+ students across the Civil Department — listened to their problems, noted what they wanted changed for Elections. Fought a tough battle, and won. Led a 4-tier team of 32, represented our department at multiple events. Handled a ₹0.85M annual budget, from formal events to fun nights, we did it all.

Made hundreds of memories, built lifelong friendships, and above all found my CEA Family :)

Joined because of the freebies and parties. The only real work I did was organizing data — updating spreadsheets and keeping things sorted. At least that's what I remember!

The first time I learned campus politics, I talked to almost all 171 students in class for this election. I learned how to communicate with people, made some friends and lots of enemies. After becoming CR, I saw issues from both professor and student sides.

The only thing I did was calling seniors to attend placement interviews.

Thanks to the Placement Office for letting me put this on my resume: 'Assisted in conducting corporate tests as part of a 12-member team, handling student queries. Coordinated 250+ student volunteers to interview 1,800+ candidates.' :)

This is where I earned my first salary. I went in thinking I was average at civil engineering courses. Then I started solving questions here and realized: 'Oh. Oh no. I'm not even average :')

These TA roles were life-changing. Since some courses were being launched for the first time, I wasn't just teaching — I was learning alongside the students. These courses planted the seed for my passion in entrepreneurship.

A special thanks to Prof. Devdip Purkayastha, one of the kindest mentors, for guiding me through this journey. Sir, I may have forgotten most of what I learned in these courses, but I will always remember your lessons about the importance of core values in life.

I realized the power of cold emailing when I wrote a heartfelt message to a professor, claiming I was deeply passionate about his field (truthfully, I just needed to fill my resume and make money — times were tough). Despite my bad grades, he surprisingly accepted me! That opportunity led me to train and guide first-year students in teaching various tools. That first teaching assistant role snowballed into five more TA positions — where I learned endlessly, built lifelong friendships, made career-changing connections, and earned enough to support myself.

I was grateful for the opportunity to contribute as a reviewer for NPTEL's 'Business Fundamentals for Entrepreneurs' course.

IIT Bombay wasn't just college, it was a turning point in my life. Looking back, I'd say 90% of what I've learned about life, people, and myself came from these four years.

I dived into everything from civil engineering to entrepreneurship, law, and beyond. Held multiple positions of responsibility from Class Representative and Mentor to working with tech teams like Team Shunya and Team Rakshak, and eventually becoming the Department General Secretary. I did lot of intern, did research, built projects, and even got the chance to explore China. Learned how to meditate, play chess, swim, and more importantly, how to stay grounded.

I made lifelong friends, found coolest and most humble professors, and built memories I'll carry forever. IIT Bombay became my second home, not because of the campus, but because of the life it gave me.

So many stories, so many moments. Maybe one day, I'll write a book: "My 4 Years at IIT Bombay."

Explored Shenzhen: loved the city and people, hated the food (I'm vegetarian :), learned dance & calligraphy, got drunk on campus, again fell in lovee with someone, and somehow presented research I did in just 3 hours. (Yes, that's why I came to Tsinghua.)

Honestly? Barely remember — made some PPTs, learned about Indonesian culture, food and tourism. Fun program though!

Learned how to think, how to draft patents, and how to present in front of an audience.

Best Moments: Ate lots of ice cream and chocolates every day (free from the program!), had pizza parties, tried skating, fell in love with someone, learned how to play video games — and got addicted. Loved the campus (though very hot).

Worst Moments: Discovered I have major stage fright and realized I'm not as smart as I thought.

The only time I visited school in those two years was for exams. Studied just before each exam and somehow secured 1st rank in school.

Studying the impact of COVID-19 in the real estate housing market and suggest an analytical approach to be undertaken by the respective stakeholder to boost the industry. Investigating the implementation and advancement of digitization and Virtual Reality in the real estate industry.

Examined the correlation between the fundamentals of the Indian stock market and the techniques and processes used in contemporary stock trading. Developed a structured model for analyzing financial statements and key terms in corporate finance.

Investigated the workings of Forex and commodity markets and compared the key differences between the various markets. Undertook extensive research and analyzed the key factors affecting gold prices and the impact of gold on currencies and the worldwide market.

Successfully completed 4 sessions focusing on analyzing startups, with the goal of applying the concepts of Idea Validation, Business Model Construction, and Funding Raising in real-world scenarios. Analyzed real-life company progression and created a map depicting the evolution of the company.
